Vic: How the skimming process works

HOW THE SKIMMING PROCESS WORKS



*Skimming device is attached to ATM and reads account details and films customer entering PIN.



*Information is downloaded through mobile phone with bluetooth or laptop.



*Information is then transferred to blank cards at "factories" making fake credit cards.



*Fake cards are then sold to other criminals who often use them to buy high-value goods
overseas or locally until the cards are "maxed out".
